This bowl was thrown in premium, translucent porcelain. The form was then altered by hand to create a shape that loosely resembles a flowering plant. The glaze has been left simply transparent to allow the porcelain to shine. The wooden base is made of laminated cedar planks, which I have turned on a lathe to fit perfectly. The base can come off and be placed back on for cleaning.
